Visit the Audomarois marshes
Visit an exceptional place, shaped by Man
Discover the Audomarois marshes during your stay in our hotel in Arras!
Located only 1 hour away from the Best Western Plus Le Fairway, the Audemarois marshes have been shaped by its inhabitants since the 12th century.
A lot of hard work has been put in place to develop this wetland area which extends over 15 communes: draining the land by evacuating the water to the sea, shaping ditches and rivers (called "watergangs" and "wateringues" respectively) have given a new life to the area.
This vast project allowed the land to be farmed and vegetables to be produced, which are now part of the heritage of the Audomarois marshes.
Today, the marsh has become a real labyrinth of water and nature which will not fail to seduce you with its exceptional landscapes: navigation channels, abundant vegetation and houses lining the riverside offer a postcard panorama.
